Wood/Coal Furnace Models 365EK & 480EK
Draft Options
Energy King Wood Furnaces and Coal Furnaces offer three draft options: Manual, Automatic, or Forced Air Draft; however, not all draft options are available on all wood furnace and coal furnace models.
Energy King’s Model 365EK Wood Furnace and Coal Furnace comes standard with a Manual Draft system and offers the thermostatically-controlled Automatic Draft system as an option.
On Energy King’s Model 480EK Wood Furnace and Coal Furnace, you have the choice of a Forced Air Draft or Automatic Draft system, both operated by a wall thermostat located in the living area of your home.

Manual Draft: The draft dial controls the manual draft system. By adjusting the dial, you can manually control the amount of air entering the fire chamber of your 365EK Wood/Coal Furnace.
Automatic Draft: When your home cools, the wall thermostat opens a damper in the automatic draft tube allowing your chimney’s natural draft to pull combustion air into the fire chamber of your 365EK or 480EK Wood/Coal Furnace. Once your home is at the desired temperature, Energy King’s wall thermostat closes the automatic draft tube damper.
Forced Air Draft: When your home cools, the wall thermostat of the Forced Air Draft system turns on the forced air draft blower to force combustion air into the fire chamber of your 480EK Wood/Coal Furnace. Energy King’s wall thermostat turns off the forced air draft blower once your home is at the desired temperature.
